This handsome boy is going to be the light of your life - HAPPY is who he is when he's with his person.  This very handsome Sheltie boy is ESTIMATED to be approximately 6 years old or possibly a little older.  He is very reliably house trained and an incredibly good boy. He weighs in at about 31lbs.

He arrived here overweight and we're currently helping him to take weight off.  You will need to help him continue getting down to a healthy weight.  He also arrived here needing to have many teeth extracted - he's had major dental work done.  You will need to monitor this and give him veterinary dentals, as needed - just like any other dog - this is basic health care for any dog.  Handsome Boy probably would do best in a quiet, loving home that is a single level home, with a fenced yard.

Handsome Boy's most ardent desire is to be the close companion of a human.  Are you that human lucky enough to have this boy in your life?

He is NOT happy to have other dogs in his face.  He is not good with children because he likes to use his mouth which could frighten a child. He is also frightened by toddler-type behavior.  He will chase a cat that's running though he does well with our house cat.  You cannot have him off-leash in a park with strange dogs - he will want to protect you.  You will NOT have nice walks in your neighborhood with him because if he hears or sees another dog he becomes upset and will pull and try to run at the other dog.  He currently lives with several other dogs but there are always dog trainers present who are mindful of the needs of each dog - including Handsome Boy. He will even play with another dog from time to time.

As wonderful as he is (who's perfect anyway) he is NOT a dog to leave alone with another dog, NOT a dog to walk around the neighborhood with, and NOT a dog to be off leash in a dog park or similar place.

This beautiful boy is a lover of his humans.  He is very tuned into your emotions and, if he thinks you're in trouble or upset, he wants to help you.  He is more sensitive to his human's moods than other dogs are.  He is a very special Sheltie who will be the best companion you've ever had.

If you're interested in learning more about his incredible Sheltie-boy please contact us at 801-231-3031 and fill out our Application for Adoption at http://SheltieRescueUT.org.  The adoption fee for this Sheltie is $275.00 - all the love he brings with him comes with no additional fees.
